Happy Pico 2 / #RP2350 day everyone.
I have a Pico 2 #RP2350 MicroPython board sat on my desk with 8MB PSRAM and ITS JUST TOO MUCH RAM WHAT WILL I DO WITH IT!?
@gadgetoid I haven't been brave enough to dead bug a PSRAM onto my one and only prototype. How hard was it?
@thejpster didn't need to - machine placed
@gadgetoid on a Pico 2? They don't have PSRAM on them.
@thejpster it's uh, our own Pico Plus 2 with PSRAM, moar flash, and connectors, shiny, shiny connectors - https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/pimoroni-pico-plus-2?variant=42092668289107
@gadgetoid Ah! I want one. To go on https://www.elecrow.com/neotron-pico-rev-1-1-assembled.html. So I can emulate a PC and run Windows.
@thejpster that escalated quickly!
@gadgetoid well if you will insist on having stock on launch day, what do you expect? Besides I really CBA to lay out my own Pico replica with PSRAM (and I need a Pico not a Feather because that's what my board takes).
@gadgetoid you'll find a way
@gadgetoid Load it with audio samples. That'll do it.
@gadgetoid MINE BITCOIN!
@gadgetoid still no built-in wifi though :)
@gadgetoid just ordered a couple so you'll be able to afford extra biscuits this month when you get your "raid ukscone's wallet" bonus :)
@gadgetoid Micro USB? Is this April 1st or 2015?
Also, is this one any good with floating point?
@InstantArcade @gadgetoid probably produced too many usb micro branded cables 3 years ago
@davedarko @gadgetoid Great way to shift all that stock :)
@InstantArcade pico_float_bench says 20x as good, at stock clock. Not really much of a comparison since FPU vs non FPU is like comparing a sports car to a skateboard. There are also double precision instructions (a copro I think) which I have not experimented with.
@gadgetoid Thanks, I mostly interested in how lazy I could be and still get reasonable performance :)
@gadgetoid This is great, but the only problem is that I now need one yesterday
@Daft_Freak have some additional stuff in the pipeline that will definitely interest you
